Jamie Jensen

Third Grade Teacher
jamie.jensen@guadschool.org

Jamie is an engaging educator who is in her 15th year of teaching at Guadalupe School. She was born in Utah but lived in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, and Texas while growing up. As a child, Jamie knew she would grow up to be either a teacher or a pediatric nurse. She began attending the University of Utah with a plan in place to attend and graduate from the College of Nursing, but while in school, she began working at a childcare center on the university campus and loved working with the children so much that she switched to the College of Education. Jamie graduated with a B.S. in Education in 2010 and began working as a preschool teacher in the Ealy Learning Center here at Guadalupe School that same year. In 2012, she accepted a second-grade position and stayed there for seven years before moving to third grade in 2019. Jamie also supervises the OST programs (Afterschool and Summer School) and loves having adventures all year round; with the additional bonus of having opportunities to connect with both past and future students. Jamie was a 2022 Utah Teacher of the Year nominee and continues to strive toward creating a strong classroom community where students and staff work together to create a successful learning environment. When Jamie is not at Guadalupe School, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, watching a movie (action or comedy, please!), or relaxing with a good book–especially if the relaxing can be done in the mountains.
